Goodbye!!!!

Hi everyone!!! Today is my last day of class at Queenswood, so I'm going to do a review of my stay here.

It has been just twenty five days since I arrived England, but it seems to have been an eternity. Many things have happened since I got to this school. To be honest, the day I arrived here I didn't like the school. I imagined it would have taller buildings and they would be made of stone, similar to Howarts. But I when I arrived I found many short buildings made of brick. It didn't look like Howarts. I may have prefered a Howart school, but this one has been funny too.

I think I haven't learnt a lot of English here, maybe some, but not as much as I would have wanted. When I chose a intensive course in England I did with the aim of learn a lot of English. I thought that when I come back to Spain I would be able to speak English really good. But I don't think it will happen.
Despite that, thsi month has been funny. I have made many friend that I will never forget, I have realized that I don't like pizza, I have laughed a lot, I have visited London and I have learnt to post. I hope you have enjoyed this blog because I'm not going to write here again never. Googbye everyone!!!!

My life in the past

If I lived in Tudor England:

-I'm sure I would belong to the rich Tudors.

-I would live in a big building in the country, made of brick and stone. I would have a little farm at home with pigs, oxen, badger and some different animals. Every day, I would call my servant and tell him which animal I want, so that he would kill the animal for me. The wine would be the perfect drink.

-I would look ridiculous with my clothes. Probably I would wear padded skirts held up with loops. And I would wear a corset. Those clothes would all be decorated with jewels because in that time rich people liked to show everyone their place in society.

-I would be a housewife, so I would be very busy.

-I wouldn't have had an education, because in that time girls didn't use to go to the school. I just would be able to read and write.

ART IN OUR LIFES

Hi!!! Yesterday we went to London again, but this time we visited the Tate, one of the most important museums of modern art in the world, and the Shakespeare's Globe. That is the reason why I'm going to speak about art today.

We all are surrounded by art. Art is present in our daily life. When we get up, the first thing we do is make our beds. In that way, there are different ways of making the bed. We can consider that the first demonstration of art of the day. After making the bed, we go to get dressed. Everyone has a personal stile in his way of getting dressed. Ten persons in front of the same wardrobe wouldn't coordinate the same garments. Besides, there are different trends. Fashion girls always try to keep the trend and never wear clothes out of fashion. So if they are in front of a wardrobe today and ten years later they wouldn't chose the same clothes.

When we art already dressed we get on the car to go to work and we put some music on the radio, or we go to the school on bus or by foot, in both ways listening to our Ipod ( who hasn't one yet?). Almost all people agree that music is a form of art, and that a singer is an artist. We listen to music many times per day, and we like it. A life without music would be extremely boring. There is a song for each feeling. When we are happy we listen songs like "Womanizer", from Britney Spears, and when we are sad we prefer songs like "Halo", from Beyonce.

When we come back from work or from school we lie on the sofa and we watch TV, or when we go to the cinema to watch a movie, in order to relax. That's art too. There are many people behind the art, many people whose work consist in creating art. People need art, and art need people to create it and to admire it.

My life in the future.

Ten o'clock in the morning. The alarm of my new mobile phone rings. I love this mobile phone. It is as big as my little finger, and if I push a button it gets bigger. And I love its alarm. It emits a soft sound that only is perceptible if you are one meter close to it, so you don't disturb anybody when you get up. This would have saved me some rows with my sister when I was younger.

I get up and I head for the dressing room. I press a button and in the twinkling of an eye all the wardrobes are open and my Clothes Chooser select the perfect outfit for the meeting of today. I have to make a good impression on the owners of the CNN in order to sell them our work, the thirty-first serie of "House".

I get on my car (I love its golden colour), insert the key and press the button that says "Fly". In just a few seconds the car takes off and few seconds later we have reached the speed of 200 km per hour. I don't want to be late for the meeting. I'm the most important business woman of TV in the whole USA, and maybe in the whole world.

Iker Casillas

Hi!!!! Today I'm going to talk about the person who I admire. I don't have to think a lot to know who is he. He is Iker Casillas. Do you know him? He is a Spanish football goalkeeper from Mostoles (Madrid) who has been playing for the Spanish team Real Madrid since 1999. He started playing football at the age of 16. In my opinion he is the best footbal goalkeeper in the world. And it isn't just my opinion. In 2008 he was named the world's best goalkeeper by the IFFHS. He also came in third place in the best goalkeepers of all time ranking.

Despite being famous, he behaves as a normal person. Besides, he doesn't take benefit from his fame for himself but for the people who need help. Recently he has been the image of an advertising campaign which had the aim of stopping the children's poverty. He also organized a football match with Rafa Nadal in order to collect money to eradicate the malaria in Sierra Leona.

Some of his most famous phrases are:

- I'm not galactic, I'm from Mostoles.

-I'm not Saint at all, I'm just Iker. - He said this because many reporters reffer to him as "Saint Iker". I think he is.

Twilight

Have you ever watched Twilight? For those of you who haven't seen it yet I really recommend you to do it as soon as possible. Why? For many reasons, but I should better start telling you something about the plot.

The movie starts with the arrival of Bella to the small town of Forks to spend some time with her father when his mother remarries to a baseball player. When Bella goes to school next day, she is welcomed by almost all the student but one, Edward Cullen, who appears to be disgusted by her. Bella is intrigued by the mysterious of Edward and his family. She realize that he is different from the rest and finally discover that he is a vampire. But he and his family are different from the rest of vampires, they just eat animals. Both of them fall in love and is there when problems start. Three nomadic vampires arrive to Forks and one of them, James, wants to kill Bella and drink her blood more than anything in the world, but Edward's family will do their best in order to protect her. Will they be able to protect Bella from James or will someone die in the attempt? If you are intrigued see the film.

You may want to know more of Twilight before watching it. The movie is performed by Robert Pattinson as Edward, and Kristen Stewart as Bella. You may know Robert Pattinson for other films such as the fourth film of Harry Potter. The film was directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

This film is the screen version of a book, Twilight, that I too recommend you. It was written by Stephenie Meyer and was published in 2005. It was followed by New Moon, Eclipse and Braking Down. In November we will be able to see New Moon on the screen, so don't wait more and go to see Twilight now, you won't regret it.

A day at Windsor

Hi everybody!! Yesterday we went to Windsor. It is one hour far from here, our dear school of Queenswood. First we went to the Windsor Castle. We spent like two hour there. It was so boring. It took to me thirty minutes to visit te castle and then I just sitted on the grass with my friend Sara to listen to music.

As the school use to do, they gave us a sandwich (which was really bad) and as I use to do, I trough it into the bin and then I went to McDonal;s with my friends. After lunch I went shopping with Sara. We spent a lot of time looking for a shop that my sister had advised to me, "Nwe look". Finally we found it. I bought lot of things: a dress, two T-shirts, a shoes...

And that's all!!!!!

The oasis of Queenswood

Hi! It's time to talk about the positive things of Queenswood, as I promised in my first post. I think it will be difficult.

First, I would like to point out that we don't have time to get bored. We are always doing something: going to class, eating, going to class, eating, going to class, eating and playing tennis. We have the whole day planned but a little time that we need to tidy our room or to have a shower. So there is no time to get bored. It is a good thing.
Second, I have to say that we learn English. Although I speak in spanish with my friends, I just need to speak in English many times, for example when we want to talk to a student from other country, or at class, of course.
Third, I'm really improving at tennis. Now I know how to serve and I'm so much better with the forehand. Playing tennis everyday is having some effect on me, apart from the stiffness.
And those are all the good things I can tell so far. Maybe I will write more in the future.

Daily life at Queenswood

Hi guys!!! Today I'm going to write about my daily life at Queenswood (as the title says). I hope this post help some people in the future whether or not to come here to invert their time.

Every morning at seven o'clock a kind woman comes into every room to wake us up, or I should better say that a kind woman should come into, because she never comes into my room, so I have to set the alarm of my mobile phone every night. It's so cold here in the mornings, so I put on my sweatshirt when I get up. I stay two minutes sitted on my bed still asleep and then I take off my sweatshirt and get dressed (It's too cold in the morning to have a shower, so I have it at night). I spend like fifty minutes doing this (I don't know how).

Then I go to the other building to meet my friends. We are in different "houses" (I'm in the Senior House) so they wait me every morningin order to go together to have breakfast. Once we are at the dinning hall we take the food (I usually eat a toast with butter anh a hot chocolate) and we sit together in the table. It is the only lunch o9f the day when we can sit together.

After beakfast we have class. We have one hour and a half of class and a break, and one hour and a half and the lunch. About the lessons there is nothing to tell, they are too boring. About the lunch I only have to say that we have to sit in the tables that have been assigned to each one of us, and that we always have pizza like a choice.

Then we have more class and after the class we have the dinner. So we are always at class or at the dinning hall. After that I have tennis. I play tennis every evening at seven o'clock. I like tennis, but I think I;m going to get tired with tennis. Yesterday I spent the whole day playing tennis and now I can't move.

After tennis I go to have a shower ( the one that I couldn't take in the morning) and I go with my friend to the common room that almost nobody knows to play table football and to listen to music lied down on the sofas. At half past ten we have to be back in our rooms and get ready for going to bed. At eleven o'clock we have to turn off the lights.

A day at London

Hi!!!! I'm here again. Yesterday we went to London, but not shopping, it was just a cultural visit (I mean it was very boring). At 8:45 we were waiting at the meeting point of the school ready to leave for London. We took two buses for the one hour trip.
At London we visited many places such as Buckingham palace and we took many pictures. We walked for a long time around the city. Then we sat on the grass to eat a sandwich (it was really bad) and an apple.
We got on the bus again and we head for the British Museum. There I meet a friend that was on the other bus and we got into the museum and walk on our own. First we went to look for the answers for the questions the teacher had given to us. We we finished them we went to the cafe to drink a coffee and we stayed there for some minutes talking. To end up with the visit we went to the toy's shop and I bought two T-shirts and a notebook. Then we head for the bus. We thought that we had to be there at 15:30, but the meeting time was 15:15, so when we arrived there everybody was waiting for us at the bus!!!! And that was my day at London.

Complaints about Queenswood

Hi guys!!!! What are you doing? I'm here, in a big school named Queenswood, somewhere of England. "Intensive but fun" is their slogan. Actually it's intensive. Maybe fun too, but so intensive. This is my sixth class today, then I have another class and after that I have a long time of sport. I have chosen tennis.

Monday was a very crazy day. I took a plane at the airport of Barcelona (Spain) and two hours later I was at London. The papers (I use to read them before going anywhere) said that the the school was 45 minutes far from the airport. Actually they were 2 hours. Maybe it's common at London. Maybe when someone here say 30 minutes he means 3 hours. But in my home city (Pamplona) it's not this way. I guess I have to get used to this.

When I arrived at the school I was given a room. The papers (again the papers) said that the room were individual or shared between two persons. What was my surprise when I came into the room and I noticed that I was the sixth person there. Obviously I went quickly to complain about that. Yesterday the gave me an individual room, number 27 at Senior House. So I will have to find another thing to complain about.

Maybe the food. Yesterday they offered us pizza for dinner and most people ate it delighted. most of them had a second helping of it. But this morning, there was pizza again in the menu. Of course there were other options, but a lot of people have eaten it again because nobody controled it. Pizza should just be offeren once a week. Otherwise we are going to get very fat.

To continue complaining the papers (the papers again) said the students had to speak English all time, if not it would have serious consequences. Another lie. I get tired of hearing Russian, Italian, French... I don't understand those languages. Of course I speak Spanish with my friends, but somebody should control it.

This school has good things too, but I will talk about then another day.
